Mobi-Mat range is suitable for use on all beach types including shingle (see attached photo). Mobi-Matt is designed to enable both walkers and wheelchair users to access the beach.    Mobi-Matt is manufactured in France from highly durable material and is designed to be deployed and removed after use but can also be left in situ. The optional Roll N Stow is a useful device both as a means to store the matting neatly rolled up ( up to 50 metres ) and to assist in deploying and removing.  

The matting is available in various lengths and widths and is comes in choice of 3 colours. The service life of Mobi-mat® is many years. In Florida for example, the estimated lifetime with intensive use, 365 days a year, under strong sun and hot temperature, is 5 years. If you are putting the Mobi-Mat our for a period of time it can be secured to the ground with 500 mm (1,64’) staples and these work on most beach types including shingle beaches and on sloped beaches (see pics in attachment).   Optional shorter 250 mm staples are also available for use on very compacted, soil-like sand to make it easier to remove the staples.       

The maximum gradient for wheelchairs will depending on the wheelchair manufacturer’s guidelines.  For pedestrians the Mobi-mat® manufacturer recommends up to 20% (lab tests were conducted up to 40%.)  The Mobi-Roll N Stow dispenser is suitable on most beach types including shingle. It is a good tool to deploy and recover easily the mat and stow it. The Roll N Stow can store up to 50 ft of matting.   We recommend a minimum of 2 people to deploy by hand – on flat ground.   It can also be attached to a quad bike and towed which may be necessary in particular if there is a steep gradient.
